About Day Camp
JOIN US AT OUR 2023 OPEN HOUSE!
The Open House at YMCA Camp Mason will include a tour of the camp, meeting our leadership, some snacks and you can even try a couple of our activities! The Open House runs from 1-4 pm so stop by at a time that is best for you. No RSVP is necessary. If you cannot make an Open House, please call us to see if we can arrange a private tour.

Who are we?
In operation since 1972, Camp Mason’s Day Camp program serves children in grades K-8 from Northeast NJ and beyond. Day Camp is located at YMCA Camp Mason (a ten-minute drive from Blairstown center), and shares the resident camp’s extensive facilities, including the swimming pool, nature center, climbing wall, farm & garden, lake, athletic fields & courts, and more.
A Typical Day
Campers will follow a daily schedule that provides them with a sense of routine and comfort while trying new things each and every day. Day Camp groups are divided by age and move around camp together staff members to the various activities on offer. Day campers have the opportunity to swim every day in our large, guarded swimming pool. They will also be able to try a range of other activities including sports, archery, rock climbing, hiking, arts and crafts and boating.
Special Events and Activities
Day Camp hosts weekly theme days where campers and staff alike get into character, dress up and have a lot of fun! Day Camp also presents a Talent Show twice each summer and we invite our families to join us for these. The oldest day campers may have the opportunity to sign up for adventure trips into the surrounding area and even to try out staying overnight at camp. You’ll receive weekly information from the Day Camp Director so you can be prepared for these special events.
Operating Hours, Extended Care, and Lunch Options
Day Camp’s hours of operation are 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Extended care is available before camp (7:30 AM drop-off) and after camp (5:30 PM pick-up) for an additional fee. A nutritious and varied breakfast is included with morning extended care. For lunch we freshly prepare our meals at camp for those that opt to add-on meals to their session. Sessions are one-week in duration, with price discounts for multiple weeks. Financial aid is available.

Our health lodge is staffed by professional medical personnel, prepared to handle the wellness needs of our campers at any time of day.
Our Staff
Our staff members are rigorously screened, well-trained, and passionate about being positive role models for young people. We plan well and work hard to ensure a successful summer for every camper. Our senior staff members comprise a leadership team that is thoughtful, aware, and prepared. Our staff come from all over the world and the US, and they bring with them strong skills sets, diversity and experiences that ensure we run an exciting and safe program for our campers.
