COVID Protocols

COVID Protocols

These protocols are subject to change based on current CDC, State of New Jersey and Warren County, NJ Health Department rules and recommendations and are subject to change at any time.

Guest Health

The health and safety of our employees and campers is our number one priority.

Face Coverings: There is no mask mandate at camp, but campers may wear a mask if they so choose. Each camper should bring the appropriate number of face masks needed for their stay at Camp Mason.

Hand Sanitizer and Hand Washing: Guests will be asked to wash their hands at appropriate times throughout their stay at Camp Mason and/or use hand sanitizer.  YMCA Camp Mason has hand sanitizer and soap dispensers throughout the camp property.

Public Signage: There will be health and hygiene reminders throughout the property including the proper way to wear, handle, and dispose of masks.

Employee & Guest Health Concerns: For the health of every person onsite, employees of YMCA Camp Mason are required to be vaccinated or test on a weekly basis for the presence of COVID  and undergo a daily health screening. They are instructed to stay home if they do not feel well and are instructed to contact a manager if they notice a coworker or guest with symptoms of COVID.

Case Notification: We will be ready to provide support to our campers. Staff are diligent in looking for symptoms of COVID.  Campers who are exhibiting any of the symptoms of COVID while on camp are instructed to immediately notify a staff member. If we are alerted to a presumptive case of COVID at camp, we will work with the Warren County Department of Health to follow their recommendations and appropriate actions.

Employee Protocols

YMCA Camp Mason Employees are vital for an effective sanitation and health plan.

Hand Washing. All YMCA employees have been instructed to wash their hands, or use sanitizer when a sink is not available after any of the following activities: using the restroom, sneezing, touching the face, blowing the nose, cleaning, sweeping, mopping, eating, drinking, entering and leaving a program space, going on break and before or after starting a shift.

COVID Training. All employees have received training on COVID safety and sanitation protocols.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Appropriate PPE, if necessary, will be worn by all employees based on their role and responsibilities and in adherence to state or local regulations and guidance. Gloves will be worn by employees whose responsibilities require them as determined by medical experts including housekeeping and medical staff that are in direct contact with campers.

Cleaning Protocols

Cleaning Supplies. Our housekeepers use cleaning products and protocols which meet EPA guidelines and are approved to be effective against COVID in addition to other viruses, bacteria and other airborne/blood borne pathogens.

Cabins, Lodges and Common Areas. Industry leading cleaning and sanitizing protocols are used to clean our facilities, with particular attention paid to high-touch items including toilet seats and handles, door handles, furniture, light switches, thermostats, and more.
