Woodsplitting Day: March 16
“Chop your
own wood and it will warm you twice.” These were the words of Henry Ford. Well, we’ve got an opportunity for you to get
warm once!
On Saturday, March 16th we’re
looking for a few volunteers to join us for a day of splitting firewood. Our wood supply has dwindled to almost
nothing and we’re looking ahead to spring and summer seasons with a high demand
for campfires. Come up Saturday morning,
get some exercise, enjoy a hearty lunch and experience the camaraderie and
spirit of a day at camp!
Every spring
and fall we offer a full volunteer work weekend (more information here), but
now we’re trying something new: one-day volunteer opportunities throughout the
year. Our wood-splitting day will be the
first of several such events to be offered in 2013. In fact, we’ve already scheduled the next one for Saturday, April 20th: We’re thinking about painting ALL the
fencing at our upper barn area white.
If you’re
interesting in helping us split some wood, please give me a call or send a
quick email to dave@campmason.org. We hope to put a crew together of 10-12
people and finish the day with several cords of split and stacked firewood!
